USTA '98 boys recently participated in the 23rd Annual Hempfield Fall/Snow Classic. The matches were held on November 22nd and 23rd. The games had their start times all pushed back because the playing surfaces were snow covered. Temperatures in the Lancaster area were well below freezing in the early morning hours. The first match pitted our boys against Westminster United from Maryland. This match had some back and forth scoring until eventually our USTA boys came out on top with a 5-4 finish. The second match put us up against a familiar opponent in Wyoming Valley Soccer Club. Again, our U10 boys fought through the cold to conquer WVSC '98 7-0. Sunday, brought on even colder temps. The boys then ran into some admirable competition when they face the Blue Jays from Maryland.  They defeated our '98 boys 3-0.  The final match played was against the Upper Makefield Newtown Patriots and was for the finalist position.  The two teams played to a 0 - 0 tie. USTA '98 was by far the more technical team on the pitch. With tie breaker rules taking affect, our boys finished in third place.  Great job team and good luck with your dome season!
